At long last, American fans of Israeli jewelry designer Michal Negrin won’t have to travel too far to purchase some of her famed rings, necklaces and bracelets. Michal Negrin, Israel’s most popular and wide-spread designer, announced this week an ambitious plan to establish 24 stores in the United States, starting with the launch of the first store on June 21, 2013 at Westfield Garden State Plaza mall in Paramus, New Jersey. This is the first store in the New York area that has 100% of its products made in Israel and 100% designed in Israel.
Noam Hanuka, the CEO of Michal Negrin USA, the US based franchisee commented: “The deal signed with Michal Negrin calls for 24 stores over a 12 year period. We are looking at several locations in fashion and tourism centers and in upscale shopping malls in the New York City vicinity. Opening the first store in Westfield Garden State Plaza mall was a natural step for us, as Westfield are familiar with the brand from other malls they operate around the world and as both the Asian and Israeli/Jewish segments of the Bergen county community are familiar with the products. We received a great location for a 750 square foot store on Level 1 of the mall in the upscale avenue, together with such brands as Tiffany & Co., Louis Vutton, Gucci and Tag Heuer. We decided to totally redo the store and are using many unique decorative elements that were built in Israel. 100% of the products in the store are personally designed by Michal Negrin and hand made at the Michal Negrin studio and factory outside of Tel Aviv. We are proud to be possibly the only store in the US with 100% of its products designed and made in Israel”.
